My father and I bought the rights to the best arthritis and muscle pain relief gel. We would like to set up an affiliate opportunity. Looking for some direction.

We are working on our site and landing pages.

We will support the marketing with national radio and eventually TV. We are taking AMR-7 to QVC in the next couple of weeks.

A suggestion: I work in coupon industry. So I particulary join affiliates that have offers, discounts, coupons. So if you offer discounts you might get another type of affiliates.
So more chances of sales.

Is there a big difference between being an affiliate of a service and an affiliate of a product? I have chosen to become an affiliate of Zulutrade an internet autotrading platform (service) cause Forex market is a lucrative one and think I can earn from it. Being an affiliate of Forex market is very rewarding because you get a high commission whenever you get a sale from their site whether it's a software or something else and it's very competitive because most of the forex market affiliate program caters to both a product which is sometimes one-time only(software) and a service usually a subscription or oto to gain access to the members area (tips, tricks/guides and videos) at the same time.
