What's Your Newsletter Opt-in Rate?

After getting up to over 5,500 visitors a month on one of my sites I figured it was time to bite the bullet at get an aweber account.

I'm new to aweber. What kind of optin percentage rate are you getting for 6 part mini courses on the top left (not the ones at the bottom of the articles)?

Thanks!

I get a really low opt-in on the sidebar (like less than 1%). I even removed the opt-in box on the sidebar on most of my sites just to de-clutter the list of articles.

Hey clayton. Do you get a higher opt in rate for the form at the bottom of your articles I'm guessing? That's really weird I would think the opt in rate would be higher than 1%. Looking at Mark's wowblackbook site it seems he's getting lower than even 1% but who knows. :)

How do you figure Mark's opt-in rate?

I think the sidebar gets lower opt-ins because it has less of a value offer (sign up form my 6-part mini-course) vs. the bottom of the page (get my 6-part mini-course where I teach you blah blah blah...).

My opt-in rate varies for the bottom of the page. Sometimes it's 1.8%, sometimes it's as high as 9%. I think it just depends on the quality of the traffic and how awesome the bullet points are.

Thanks for the info. Interesting, I'm going to have to put my creative hat on and spice up my bullet points. :)

I figure Mark's opt in rate because there's no "product image" in his box and his button just says submit. I just thought that might have something to do with it. Although it is in a market (wowblackbook) where people go crazy for this stuff.

Great points I'll be working on that soon! Good luck with your move this week man!
