This is a newbie and likey stupid question but if I don't ask I won't know. What's the difference between Affiliate Marketing and those one page sales letter type sites? With these Affiliate sites do you have to constantly add new posts/content. Maintain it like a real blog?

usually the sales letter sites are products owned by specific people, the affiliate marketing is people who don't actually own the product, but get paid a commission for referring people to those sites. The product owners makes money everytime a sale is made but spends less time promoting their product as their affiliates do that for them.

Most of the time (although not always) the people who own those sales pages also have a website or blog with content updated regularly that they use to funnel traffic to their sales pages.

The fact is that Google really doesn't like the sales pages very much, and they are difficult to rank. also, people are more likely to buy from someone that they know and trust, and building that trust is what keeping an updated blog is all about.

Thanks James, that was very helpful. So if you have several niches and products you'd like to target, you would be upkeeping several differnt blog with content regularly, correct? Seems like a lot of content to have to come up with. I'm assuming the best plan of attack is one at a time, build it (in terms of robust content) then go to the next.

the best way to do it is to build one, get it making money consistently, then hire people to help you build the second one, start hiring more people and have a team working for you to manage the content and promotion. its up to you how many you build, but the more you build, the more people you need working for you to manage it all.
