i checked this morning and i have suddenly lost all my rankings in google does anyone know whats happened?

Welcome to the Google Sandbox :)

For the next few weeks or so don't expect to see any change in your rankings. Google is just "testing" your website right now. Keep building links and soon it will pop back out of the sandbox.

Don't worry, you didn't do anything wrong. It just happens sometimes :)

Seams like it is happening more and more all the time.

Just be prepared, sometimes it takes months.

Always have more than one project going on at a time, so you don't go nuts when one is in the sandbox.

Absolutely! That's one reason why I built 4 websites immediately when I was first getting started. I know I'd just end up obsessing over one of them non-stop unless I distracted myself by building more.

hey daveyace, when you do site:yoursite.com or info:yoursite.com, do you still see the urls displayed? either you're in the sandbox or you've been deindex.. the latter is what happned to my site. .. whch makes me want to cry.

no it hasn't been deindexed thank god still feel like crying though, i was just starting to get really good rankings aswell. i just hope it's not permanent

Are you sure you have been de-indexed? Never heard of this except for sites that openly sell links or sites involved in buying links.

Did you check your privacy settings? Are sure sure Google can craw your site?

Why not give us the URL so we can help see what happened.

Google may just have temporarily removed your site from its index. If it violated their quality guidelines, you may receive an alert using Webmaster Tools. Simply sign in to Webmaster Tools, add your site URL, and verify site ownership. The overview page will provide information about the indexing of your site. You can modify your site so that it meets these guidelines, then submit your site for reconsideration.

I found a great resource that gives you a much better understanding of how google works. By learning more about how the google game is played you will have a much better chance of winning it (getting and keeping first page rankings). This resource is not free but if you are serious about creating content/webpages that rank, get you traffic and earn you money, then it will be worth 10times the amount that you will invest to get it. There were plenty of similar posts yesterday from other forums. Some reported their ranking went down while some are no longer able to see their websites on the search results pages. I think Google did another algorithm change yesterday but can't confirm it.

Best way to go about it is to keep working at your website. :)

Great advice Michellerana but I wonder if people are getting confused? There is a difference from being de-indexed and in the sand box.

If you search your url in quotes like this "mysite.com" and your site comes up, you are in the sand box and not de-indexed.

You can also copy and paste a big block of text from your site and enter it in the google search bar in quotes. If your site is indexed it will come up in the search results.

i lost some pages from the top ten that dropped off the face of the earth yesterday, Hope they come back :( I thought they were just dancing around till I read this post.

A newer site often moves up and down in the rankings. Or perhaps you added too many backlinks at one time so now Big "G" wants to see if it was a one time rush of backlinks. Best thing is to continue the backlink building and not worry about day to day movement. People looking at their webmaster account daily can create a lot of emotions. :)

Hey Dave,
I built a site, used article marketing (with AMR), got it up in the rankings over a several month period. Then, bam, in one day I lost all of my rankings. I was out of the top 100 in Google for 2 months. I kept building links with article marketing.

Then 3 days ago, bam, I had 70 hits in one day. I checked my rankings with SEO Powersuite. Not only had I gotten all of my rankings back, but they are much, much better.

If your site has good content, just keep promoting it...it will come back! If you're curious, this is the site www.makeenergynow.com It's a JetPack site.

coz i did received an email from Google saying that I still violated some quality guidelines things.. i resubmitted it couple of days ago and waiting for their reply.

I was just starting to rank in yahoo and Google and boom all gone. All my pages are indexed in Google but only 1 in yahoo; I am confused.

I am following AB and just started getting some backlinks, the site is far from over.So do you think I am in the sandbox or am I doing something wrong?
