Possible Niche: UK extended warranties
Hi All, thought I would float this idea to see what my fellow affiliates think, marketing extended warranties for white goods (e.g. washing machines, Hi-Fi's etc) and cars?
Has anyone tried a site based on financial products before and what are people's thoughts on likely success?

It seems like that's something that people would only be interested in once they've already broken something. They do sell well as an upgrade at the time of purchase, but I don't think it would be something people would buy after the fact, unless I misunderstood?

No, not misunderstood and I see what you mean. I watched a programme a few days ago called superscrimpers which highlighted that warranties bought at the time of purchase were over-priced and that better deals could be had by approaching specialised warranty providers. My idea would be the same as the comparison websites out there, but specifically for warranties on cars OR white goods etc.

I think the idea has merit. But I am thinking more of warranties towards gadgets (but that might be more difficult as most gadgets come with warranty upon purchase) since that is what most people buy these days. I think warranties on cars would sell more than white goods, since repairs on cars are more costly.
This is the first I've heard of this. Please keep us posted once you've started on this project.
Have a good day!
