How Much Is an AB Website Worth?
Hey,
I've seen a few posts recently about people selling their websites. I'm wondering, how can we evaluate how much our websites are worth?
For example, I have a site that's 4 months old, has a PR 3, gets about 1,200 visitors a month (all from SEO), and has made me almost $600 since I launched it 4 months ago. I'm not interested in selling it right now, but just out of curiosity, how much would something like that be worth?
I have other sites too that are not doing as well. Is there some kind of rule of thumb on how to value a site?

Mark talks about this in the AB introduction video.
From the notes:
"If you can track the income over a period of 6 months or so, you can usually get 18 months to 4 years income as a sale price of your website!"

So if it gets steady income for about six months then you can get around 18 - 48 times monthly income?
That's kind o f a wide range.
What would make a site be worth 18 times monthly income verses 48 times? Is the age and sales history, I'm guessing?

Hey Clayton,
Yeah this is a bit of a hit and miss thing.
A site is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.
If a site is 6 mths old, it is not really much to go by as the traffic could increase or decrease depending on your SEO efforts, new competition etc..
12 mths is a better indication of a sites earning potential.
Consider how many articles/pages are on the site 10 or 50.
or, has the income increased every month for 12 mths.
also, an online auction will get less than a negotiated sale.
People even sell or flip sites to offline business people for alot more than they can get for it online.
Hey, You just gave me an idea for an article on my blog, Thanks...lol

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize
they were the big things.
