I was going to share the same news this morning but you beat me to it. :)

Yes, Google downgraded Chrome's page rank after it was caught buying links. This is a classic example of the right hand not knowing what the left hand's up to. I think Google has gotten so big it is no longer able to keep track of all its projects.

I think that there's a lot to learn from the Chrome incidentand this is what we all should pay attention to. SERoundtable is running a poll on whether you think the penalty's enoug.

Chrome should be deindexed for six months to a year like everyone would be. But that's never going to happen.

LOL. Of course that's never gonna happen! This is Google's own browser we're talking about.

Yeah sure, like God...urgh I mean Google cant bump up their own page ranking with a few tweaks here and there, its only the company that took photos of the whole earth and 3d photos of every street on planet earth!

One day Google will turn evil, its an accident waiting to happen, when the big bad wolf turns up, Google will be eaten alive like little Red riding hood.

Google has ALWAYS given their own stuff superior search listings, I don't know why it is being made such a big deal now. they always have and always will put their own stuff at the top of the listings. is it fair? not always, but its thier site and they have the right to do whhatever they want with it.

Everybody knows Google does it and everyone's ok with it. I think people made a big deal of this because it was all over the internet. It's one thing to do something inconspicuously, and quite another to do it blatantly. Only goes to show the biggest fish in the ocean is not invincible.
