Because of circumstances, I am now trying to make money online, fulltime. I sit here at my computer, by myself, often wishing I knew someone else in the same position, at about the same level, to compare, exchange thoughts, ideas and methods.
Lots of times, I think to myself, I am so dumb, why can't I do this? But then I work out how to do that particular task and I realise when you know how, it's easy. Just have heaps to learn.
I'm in my mid 50s and I really want to get myself a real internet business.
So, if you are in a similar position, love to have some contact with like-minded people. We may be able to help each other in some way.

I just found out about Mark's site yesterday from a referral at another forum (Warriorforum). I don't think I will be able to thank that guy enough. I went there looking for advice, and mostly what i got was more people trying to sell me their stuff.
Anyway, I too am a newbie trying to break into Affiliate marketing. After having spent the last month or so on information overload, and buying "crap" that promised this or promised that, it was so refreshing to find someone who is actually willing to help newbies get started in this business. Granted, there is the Premium upgrade and the Blueprint video series available for purchase, but the free learning content he offers has been so helpful. I've learned more in the last 24 hours than I have learned in the last 30 days because of Mark's generosity in teaching others the basics at no cost to us. I don't know if any of you have sent him a thank you message, but I did...

I have been into internet/affiliate marketing for over two years but still consider myself a newbie. There is SOOO much to learn. Unfortunately, there are very few people willing to work with you when you need help for no money.
So, if you are like most newbies, and have no money to spend, you have to substitute money for time and figure it out on your own. I took me a long time just to figure out what people were talking about when they said,"upload this to your website." Website?...what website? How do you get one? Upload? What does that mean? You see how something SO simple can be SO complicated for the newbie who spends days trying to figure out what would take someone else a few minutes to do. It took me over six months to create a website and learn all that was involved in it. Now, I can do it in 30 minutes. I can upload and download and create ..ect in minutes which took me days before.
Now I find myself going through the same process with promotion. I don't know how to promote and try to do the things I see other people mention but have no success. I spend days on the computer trying and failing. Once again, I can't find anyone willing to work with me one on one unless I pay them thousands to learn about traffic generation. I need a daily traffic plan that has been proven to work. I find myself wasting time on things that don't seem to work and don't spend enough time on the things that are suppose to work. Since I haven't got a proven method to work so far, I can't know which methods are a time waster and which ones failed only because I didn't do them consistently. I have several site which I would really appreciate all of you commenting on. I have a main site which is very unorganized. Would like your feedback. My main site is *broken link removed*. My product site is *broken link removed*.
and I also have a blog at *broken link removed*.
I have only asked once before for feedback on my sites but got no answers.
Thanks

I went to the 3 sites you posted, and of them, I found that your product site seemed to flow well with the video and products offered. The blog was pleasant to read, and it wasn't overly packed with useless info. Maybe you could delete the double post(blue on black font) on Ben Stein's article.
As far as your main site, are you promoting this site? I went there as if I were a customer looking for the product that got me there in the first place. You are right, it is unorganized and just seems "stuffed". I would first find a new banner. The colors didn't get my attention other than hard to read. You might want to consider sub-domain sites that are niche related. e.g. Newbie/Free stuff on one sub-domain with some related aff links, next one could be article related, another one for reviews, etc. I'm far from being an expert on this, just looking from a customer's point of view.
I'm not trying to be overly critical, just helpful..my 2 cents

OK! I'm finding it hard to believe you just posted this comment. I will be direct here because your simple post speaks volumes.
Why are you here? What do you wish to accomplish? What is your current knowledge of Internet and Affiliate Marketing?
If your answers to 1 and 2 are "I don't know." Then you have a lot of work to do to answer them honestly. I have no idea the answer to number 3.
My suggestion is to start with this website on the "Home" page and progress to the "Lessons" and start at the very beginning. Once you have accomplished this, then come back and answer your original question.
Think about your question again and go here: http://www.affilorama.com/forum/new-to-affilorama/
If you so choose not to accomplish what has been recommended, then I suggest IM/AM is not an area for you.
The ball is in your court.

Just wanted to say Hi, and introduce myself. I am a complete a newbie, so of course I have tons of questions. So far I have just written emails to the support staff-who are great. I will be checking out the Forums to find relevant information, too. I guess as I get more into this I'll have a ton more questions, and I appreciate everyone out there who is writing in with advice based on their previous experiences-I reckon everyone had to be a newbie at some time or other.

A liitle bit about me which I have copied from my profile:
I have worked in the financial services markets mainly in the south east of England for 20 + years until recently when I was made redundant along with a lot of other people in the industry. This is the third time in my career that this has happened and I am therfore determined to create a business and create an income that I can control. Over the last few months I have done like all newbies and read numerous books, ebooks, purchased the golden nugget that every one wants to sell to me. Working as an affiliate marketeer is definately the way so long as I can master the research and the traffic volumes the products are there for the taking so I will give it maximum committment.
Anyone in the UK want to budy up then drop me an email and we can help each other.
John

New to the Affilitate Marketing world.. Live in Sacramento, CA..35..married / 2 boys / 3 and 10 mos, work for Webex/Cisco.
Just came off of a 6 yr network marketing journey.. great expierience..lots of personal growth..not very financially profitable.
Researched different opps out there, eventually stumbled onto Affilorama.. compared to some others, felt the sincerity of Mark thru his videos.. decided to take the dive.
Loving things so far.. just got started on AFFILO 2.0.. wife does web design already so hoping we can collaborate on this.
My desire to pursue this comes from the 'seed' of financial independence that was planted in my heart over 6 years ago.
LOOKING FORWARD TO "STEP BY STEP / WEEK BY WEEK" moving towards VICTORY.

My name is Bruce: Tanner, wanna be freeman-on-the-land. I'm looking for a way to make ends meet while pursuing my main (and largely unmarketable) interest, worldwide awakening. I also dipped my toe in the affiliate marketing ocean with Google Cash Detective many moons ago. I have done a smattering of web design and banged my head against the wall with Java and Php, blogging, etc.
I've spent a fair amount of money on programs and courses, but have had problems with maintaining motivation and "seeing the reality" of getting profitable sites up. AffiloBlueprint looks like the best thought out plan I've seen, and I really appreciate Mark's simplicity and clarity. I've decided that my first site is going to be on Weight Control, *broken link removed* (way under construction).
Though I have spent hours wading through the world of keywords, I'm still struggling to reach "Aha moments" with it, Fun playing with Traffic Travis, though.
Best wishes to all, and if I can ever be of any help, please let me know.

I am Demian, a German-Peruvian living in Ecuador, and yes, I am a complete newbie.
But nevertheless I am very decided to build a additional income using the Internet. What I am unsure about is the way I will accomplish that. Promoting my own product? Working as an Affiliate? In German? In English?
I am a bit confused by to many open questions and to much information overload. Right now I think the best way is to work as an Affiliate while I take the time to build my own product. I am still unsure whether my English will be good enough to work in the English speaking markets (with some help here and then).
I hope so, because there are better programs here then in Germany.
Is there somebody like me (with less then perfect English capabilities) who has succeeded with such a business? Any hints?
Thank you and lots of success,
Demian

It's nice to be here. I believe that even if we are new to affiliate marketing, we can make it happen. All we have to do is try our best to listen and read on what Mark Ling teaches us. Personally, I believe Mark is a great mentor because he doesn't only give us fish but rather teach us how to fish so we can fend for ourselves.
I admire how the lessons are set up here. It is really fun and easy to understand. In the future, I hope to contribute something worthwhile to this wonderful community.
I know that Affilorama is here for a purpose and it is one of the blessings that I always thank God for.
More power everyone!

I'm rambling on now I know.
My problem is I find myself spending days reading & watching & listening to instructions on what to do, & not actually getting down to it & getting it going. I think i'm thinking too far ahead & getting bogged down with it all. I really just need someone to say 'do this today', 'do this tommorow', but then I suppose we all need that.
I think i've found a nice little niche, but I can't find many products that are associated to it, just a couple of online courses & a few related sites I can promote stuff from.
My previous PPC campaigns just linked to the sales pages from clickbank, this was before the recent Google slap, and the importance of Quality Score. I take it it is best now to have a review / article site with the affiliate products scattered throughout. I know it's not a problem getting articles written, I was thinking of starting with 20 & gradually building it up.
I really want to make a go of both affiliate & direct marketing, as I can see the benefits of both. I'm lucky as I get alot of time off from work to do this, but as I said, I just find myself reading & watching videos all day long.
I'm gonna end it there, after all i was just going to say hello, just got carried away, hope it all made sense!
P.S. If there is anyone out there from the Brighton / Crawley area of the UK, i'd love to get together and maybe we can help each other make some money!

So, who am I? I'm pretty much a retired Grandma, so I have tons of time on my hands. I am spending most of it on the Internet, learning as much as I can to fund this retirement. My website is ArticleWritingNews.com, where I post about article writing and marketing. I invite guest bloggers to post as well. My blog, which is 10 months old, just reached PR2 a few days ago! Woo-Hoo!
My next learning curve is Affiliate Marketing, so that's why I'm here. Looks like a fantastic resource for newbie's!
Great to meet everyone!

I just listened to the podcast Mark did with Michael Cheney which reduced overload / overwhelm factor considerably. Hearing these guys have a good chat about stuff removed a whole heap of crap that was floating around my head.
Also made me very happy that the approach I'm taking is working well for me, plus I've got lots and lots of ideas bubbling away.
I've got two blogs up and running within 3 weeks and really managed to start building a good solid twitter following. I've even had articles zoom around twitter which has been very pleasing.
I must say I really like to hear the words "this WILL not happen over night" because enjoying the journey is part of the greatness of this. If your doing it just for money, you will probably give up due to a lack of fulfillment. If your doing it because its fulfilling you, then your onto a great thing. I think that is how your niche's and approaches start showing themselves by looking at how you can be fulfilled by the experience.
I've actually got a cracker of an ideal however there is no way I could do it on my own. Mark or any of the boys, if you read this and you have any thoughts on legal structures around joint ventures I would love to know about it. I'll scout around see what I can find and in the meantime, keep checking you lot out and here's a bit of humor

I'm a 56 year old guy trying desperately to learn affiliate marketing. I'm having trouble in video 4.1b in affilorama 2.0. Specifically in uploading my header to wordpress. Any body here having success or trouble with that, that might want to talk about it?

Prior to that, in June 2008 I decided to take the plunge into affiliate marketing. I didnt even know what a domain name was.
Fast forward - November 2008 I got fired. I made a determination to live off my savings and give affiliate marketing a year. Guess what? I work completely from home online now. My learning curve was steep, and I wasted alot of time looking for get rich answers. There are none. You must put the effort into it every single day.
But you need to know what actions to take. Affilorama is fantastic. But I've been around so I have something to compare it too. \
Anyway, if I can do it, so can you. A wonderful girl online showed me her method where every single day I was given an action to take to build my campaigns. God bless her, her name is PotPie Girl.
This method of creating campaigns costs no money to implement. I say this to you not to sell you her method, but because it took the angst and desperation out of my "need" to make a sale. Now I just follow the plan, and I make sales. You don't need your own website. If you have questions, I will be more than happy to walk you through it and help you as others have helped me. Here is the link.
Warm Regards
Shalisha

I've used a few different one's and have found RapidWeaver to be an inexpensive and easy to use solution. You can get some pretty sweet plugins for it too which make it easier to set up more complex site features.
Also Coda has a good rep, although I haven't used it yet. Planning to try it out soon.
CSSEdit is great for manipulating your sites' CSS if you're interested in that side of things.
There are some great sites for chasing down Mac software including http://www.macupdate.com and http://osx.iusethis.com/.

Used to work in the office but with all the budget cuts to the schools here in California have been demoted recently. I would love to one day be able to stay home with my little girl and home school her so that is why I am going to make some money in affilite marketing.
