Building Traffic to an Arcade Website

Hi all,

yesterday I finished my gaming/arcade website http://www.gamezilla.nl and I'm having trouble figuring out how I can get more traffic to it.

I thought of the following;

SEO (link building with anchor texts)
Offline marketing like stickers and posters
PPC marketing, also advertising on the Adsense network

What else is there I can do? Is buying traffic reliable? What about those 15$ 10.000 visitors offers?

How can I get my website to virally get known?

Regards Rudolf

Hello Rudolf

U could build a Facebook Fan Paeg or Groupe just for the site www.gamezilla.nl and put some posts about ur topic. U also can do Facebook ad this way (much cheaper as adwords).
So if u go this way with social media, u can go on and build a twitter account and follow poeple on your topics, and send them to the Facebook Page or your main Page.
The next step could bo to take YouTube and put some videos together with animoto.com. (Tip: I just found out how to put clickable links on youtube videos with http://www.linkedtube.com/ , so u can put the video to your side with an affiliate link in it.

Hope I could get u some ideas.

Thanks for your reply Fabian those are some good suggestions I didn't think of. I'm running a test for a few youtube videos now see if they get some traffic. Advertising on Facebook is also a good idea and it sounds like it's cheaper than Adwords.

Also, if someone else has got some suggestions I'd like to hear them as well!

Rudolf55, I just want to point this out to you about your website, but I had my browser at full size and those hover = image tricks that your doing is pretty cool, but it's a bit slow and also the ones near the bottom went off my screen and I could not view them. I am using safari. Just something you might want to look into.

Thanks NelsenCaleb,

here in Holland the hover images load really fast but that's because my host is here in Holland, that's why it's loading slower overseas at your place. My target audience is therefore the Dutch people.

Good point though, I had to fix this before (my host used to be in US and load slower here)

A question Rudolf: this is an old post, I know, but how did you intend to monetize the arcade site? I hope you don't mind me asking.

To start a site, PPC works out very well
