To be brief:

I wanted to know if anyone here has found success in affiliate marketing with the aid of a mentor?

And if not, what did you do on a day-to-day basis to find success on your own?

I ask, because from my limited experience in this industry, it seems that it is really a 'lonely' endeavor, due to the fact that most affiliate marketers are in business for themselves by themselves; with very little direct support from other affiliate marketers. ** Unless one is able to outsource a good amount of their business, it makes running this kind of business challenging indeed; with all the moving parts and industry changes involved.

So, is it because of the level of competition in this market, why affiliate marketers tend not help each other out more, to the benefit of all? Or am I such a rookie to the game, that I just haven't gotten around to figuring it all out yet?

Please share your thoughts. I'd really appreciate the constructive insight and inspiration from the more senior members here. Thanks!!

Hi naform,

Most of what I learned was through various affiliate marketing sites and forums. But there are plenty of "support groups" out there that are willing to help out newbies. It doesn't have to be a "lonely endeavor". There are Affilorama members here that are looking for training groups or focus groups. There are also members who offer coaching for a fee among other services.

We have helpful members here in the Affilorama Forums too like James and Clayton, Steve, and a lot more that I only know by their member names. :)

Yeah, it can be lonely to work so much by yourself. That's actually one of the reasons why I started my blog www.journeyofmyown.com. I just wanted to keep in touch with other people while I was slaving away at write articles, spinning articles, and building backlinks.

I know that one of the old members on this forum (who unfortunately doesn't come here anymore) named Sean Morrissy was personally mentored by Mark Ling. Sean has his own mentoring program now on his website. In 2010, I got to meet him when I was in Thailand and he is a very cool guy, though he is more into product creation now rather than affiliate marketing.

Finding a mentor doesn't have to be difficult. Just go and ask someone for help. The worst that could happen is that they'll say "no."

I know that it can be difficult to find some of the "big fish" out there since many of them are "invisible" it seems, but another great place to meet others is on the Warrior Forum. Just go to the "Local Meetup" forum and find a group in your area.

You can head on to Affilorama Services for members who advertise mentoring or coaching services. There are also various marketing forums like the Warrior Forum that you can go into and look for a mentor.
