I'm back in New Zealand and it's back to work. I've got lots of stuff to catch up with, particularly since my laptop packed a sad. I've spent today doing a few site critiques for Affilorama members, and I came across something that I thought I might share here.

I guess one of the drawbacks of being an internet marketer is that you are reliant on technology to do what you have to do. Affilorama members might have heard me say that my trusty laptop hasn't been so trusty since I've been in the States, so I'm sitting in my hotel in Austin using a temporary computer which has tremendous issues with the letter P -- as in, it doesn't work. As in -- I have to copy and paste in every P.

One thing that generates a lot of discussion and, dare I say, something approaching superstition for internet marketers is PageRank. Those little green pixels that appear in your Google toolbar giving your website a ranking out of ten. (If you haven't got a Google Toolbar you can get one from Google.) You'll see a lot of advice out there on how to boost your pagerank, a lot of bragging from high-pagerank sites and a lot of effort exerted by low-pagerank sites to try to raise their sites into...

I've just about had it up to here (imagine me with my hand up very high in the air) with the amount of endless crap on the internet these days.

I'm not going to name names (although very tempting), but there is a lot of aweful stuff that gets pimped around by so-called gurus, who promote each other's products to high heaven in order to joint venture with each other and grow each others businesses.

That's great if what they are promoting is top quality, don't get me wrong, I realize people...

Michelle (my fiance) and I arrived in New York City last night. I love New York... It's such a lively place with so much happening. The weather could be better... it's a little murky but we’re making the most of it. We're off to a Broadway show tonight. That's such an exciting thing to be able to say when you're from New Zealand... "Off to see a show on Broadway... as you do..." I'm sure we'll have a blast!
