Hi Mark

I discovered you some time last year when I was using internet cafes. In this part of the world we struggle a bit since telecommunications facilities in 3rd world countries are very expensive. There are various political reasons for that. But I am hopeful that with more and more people like you Mark the world will be a better place to live in in future. The prices for hardware, connection costs and bandwidth are very high everything is designed to cater for the elite only. If you you were to add to it the cost of the tutorials and the free software and sources you make available I realize you are doing a fantastic job. I would not be able to make a start as I am confident I will with so much of your passionate and generous contribution, honestly. However I digress.

I have borrowed a laptop which I am going to be using occasionally to start my internet business. Last year you closed membership just when I had secured funding to join and your charge was nothing considering the information you provide. As it were, it's mind boggling that you can do this for free. People in the 3rd world like me are going to benefit immensely from your generous efforts.

As I was saying last year I came across your six part mini course and it is to me awesome as it removed my newbie cobwebs and suddenly everything about internet marketing became crystal clear. Your tutorials are the best I've come across in terms of clarity but you go the extra mile and provide pdf's which is even more awesome. Thanks a million keep it up. I tremble with excitement to think of what you're going to produce with your coming soon.

I am about to set up my Wordpress blog using your tutorials, again tour video makes it so simple I am now confident. By the way I tried to use other tutorials they were not as simple as your's. But I only discovered your's about setting up wordpress recently because you provide information overload Affilorama Website and one doesn't spot things readily. Maybe if you had an overall index since you provide so much and almost everything that one needs to get going. But again I should imagine the coming soon might probably be even better.

I conclusion I realize it might be difficult for some people to master the clique of my name and people are inclined to call me "Zola" which is a different existing name that means something else when pronounced with the "Z" sound. My name means "peace" and the other means "be calm", all our names are attached to meaning literally. So I prefer you call me XB. Website coming soon. Your plugin list again highly useful and as usual thoughtful. And all you guys with comments very helpful Hopefully I will bring valuable and relevant comment in future. Pardon me for being irrelevant to this post on the most part I had to express my feeling of appreciation right now. Sorry if it offends anybody.

Cheers for now.

Hey Mark.
Read some of the other comments and got some tips so I want to say since being a member of your Affilorama family I am happy to say that newbies find your information very very helpful in helping "us" to get around the learning curve. I am going to be setting up a WordPress Blog in the next day or two and I am certain that with all the information you provided I should have success. Thanks again, I will keep you informed.

Thanks Mark, I've just found couple of new ones I didn't know about yet. ;-)

I posted the list of my 10 most useful WP plugins at:
http://reveview.com/my-10-most-used-wordpress-plugins/

- I think they'll add to your list nicely
especially WP database plugin (so you don't lose your blog!),
and Smart update pinger (so you can edit your posts without overpinging), not to mention a very useful Social bookmarking plugin so people can easily add your blog to SB sites
+ couple of other useful plugins... ;-)

Hi Mark, I'm a tad fuzzy here. I'm wondering if some of the plugins will cancel each other's effectiveness out or interfere with each other. I ask this not fully understanding each plugins' function...ie...

It sounds to me that the Optimal Title will cancel the All in One SEO Pack out...same thing for Head META Description and Optimal Title. If so...which one of the plugins would you recommend to do the described function? ~~gourmet coffee snob~~

Always Drink Better Coffee spotajavacoffee.com

From Affilorama: Hi, if you opt for the all in one seo pack, then you won't need optimal title by itself, yes. I actually only discovered the all in one pack yesterday and think it looks wonderful, that is why I hadn't removed the other recommendations that is covered inside that pack because those are the ones I use currently (although for future blogs I'm going to use the all in one pack as it saves time!)

Great info as usual, I hve used all of these plug ins on various blogs with great success.

Have you come across Zemanta? Whilst not strictly a Wordpress Plug In it is a great free tool for improving your blog. I would strongly recommend it as a tool that should be in every bloggers toolkit.

Its concept is simple: It gets the images from Wikimedia Commons, Flickr and various stock photo providers, and lets you pick them out and place them into your post.

http://www.whatdayjob.com/blog/zemanta-if-a-picture/

Damian

Hi Mark,

I have installed most of the 12 plug-ins you recommend. (In fact, now I'll install the balance on your recommendation).

I have found Akismet and the All in One SEO Pack to be the most valuable for me. All the spam is very frustrating and Akismet takes care of that and the SEO pack has helped me optimize my site with ease.

Also , I'd like to encourage anyone who is non-tech oriented to take the plunge and install some plug-ins. No one is more non-tech oriented than me and if I can do it, you certainly can.

Just start with one and go from there.

Thank you Mark for your continued great content.
